This treatment has had a huge impact on the world of orthodontics as it presents patients with a fast-acting, removable alternative to fixed braces. Most orthodontic treatments take at least 12 months to straighten the teeth – but the Inman Aligner achieves results in as little as 10 weeks.
How does treatment work?
The brace works by generating forces to move the teeth fast and painlessly, and the metal bar and coiled spring work together to squeeze the teeth into correct alignment. The treatment works quickly because it focuses on the front teeth which are visible when you smile.
The Inman Aligner should be worn for 20 hours on any given day and be taken out to eat, drink and clean the teeth. Treatment typically takes around 16 weeks but this will be based on the individual case.
Am I a suitable candidate?
The Inman Aligner is a versatile treatment which can address a number of common orthodontic problems. However, it can only attain a certain amount of movement and is not suitable for complex orthodontic problems. If you are not a suitable candidate we are able to recommend alternatives and discuss treatment options with you. The Inman Aligner is suitable for:
- Minor crowding
- Minor misalignment of the front teeth
- Spaces between the teeth
What are the pros and cons?
- Removable; giving patients flexibility and making oral hygiene easier
- Fast treatment time
- Cheaper than other treatments
- Convenient; only one appliance is needed throughout the treatment process
- Only suitable for problems affecting the front teeth
- Not as discreet as invisible braces
