Dermal Fillers

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are an increasingly popular treatment for fine lines and wrinkles, deep folds and flat facial contours. As the skin ages it starts to lose its elasticity and plumpness due to decreased collagen, causing lines to develop and resulting in the skin looking tired, dull and wrinkled. Dermal fillers are able to target the following problems:

  • Thin Lips
  • Nose to mouth lines
  • Marionette Lines
  • Facial Wrinkles in General
  • Flat or Sunken Cheeks
  • Weak Chin
  • Hydration of skin

Dermal fillers will create a smoother, more youthful complexion and can also be used to plump up the lips.

What does treatment involve?

The process to apply dermal fillers is simple and quick, whereby a tiny needle will be inserted into the skin to inject the filler. The procedure takes around twenty minutes and we can apply anaesthetic to prevent any discomfort from the injections if necessary.

What happens after treatment?

After treatment you will be free to return to your daily comings and goings, and you should not experience any unpleasant side-effects. The results of dermal filler treatment are not permanent, so if you want to maintain your new look, you will be advised to top up around 9 months for Hyaluronic Acid fillers or 18 months for Radiesse.

How we helped Elaine

Elaine Hulme was bothered by all the lines and creases in her lower cheeks, and didn’t feel anything could be done about them. She didn’t want to have surgery or anything to invasive. She discussed how we could improve things for her as she still wanted to look natural and not done. We helped her by using dermal fillers to plump out the sagging tissues and soften the look of the creases.

Elaine says: “I thought I would just have to live with the deep lines in my cheeks and avoided looking at myself in the mirror. When Melissa used the filler it was really quick and expertly done and I could see a major difference straight away. The effect then continued to improve over the next few months. I was thrilled and have gone back every few months to keep up my new improved look.”

What are the advantages?

Many people start to feel more conscious about their appearance as they get older and dermal fillers are a safe way of tackling these signs of ageing. Creating a younger, fresher complexion can do wonders for one’s confidence. Dermal fillers are very safe and the results are short-term, making it the perfect solution for people who do not want to commit to long-term or invasive treatment. Dermal fillers can also be used to create more volume in the lips and restore natural bounce to skin.

Dermal fillers create a natural look and we will tailor the treatment to suit the needs and preferences of the individual client.

How we helped Carly

“I have been a patient of Dr. Melissa Goddard (Apollonia) for many many years, and have undergone extensive dental work. I have never experienced any problems with any of the work which I have had, indeed in relation to cosmetic work it has certainly given me much more confidence and an extra quality of life. Both Melissa and all of the team at Apollionia are very welcoming, caring, and professional as well as all having good senses of humour I can only conclude by saying to any newcomer to her surgery do not be apprehensive you will be in safe hands, and the results of your treatment will be outstanding.

Thanks Melissa and the team for everything – the team includes German, Jane, Kristy and Kerry.”
