Tooth Whitening Liverpool - Private Dentist Liverpool

Apollonia provide a tooth whitening Liverpool based service. Tooth whitening is a process by which the discolorations on and within the tooth structure are lightened. The process works as the active ingredient breaks down, oxygen enters the enamel and dentine and the stains are dissolved and discolouration reduced.

We guarantee your teeth will be whiter with our more advanced whitening technique or your money back!

Tooth discolouration may be surface staining caused by such things as highly coloured or dark foods, drinks or smoking. Some discolouration may occur within the tooth itself e.g. antibiotics at a child, trauma and more commonly ageing.

There are alternative ways to change the colour of teeth, namely veneers, crowns or tooth coloured fillings, though these may involve some removal of the natural tooth substance.

Lightening is usually done using one of three techniques:

  • Home Bleaching (HB) – Tooth Whitening Liverpool based kit for home

A gel is used in custom made trays which accurately fit over the teeth and takes 1-2 weeks on average. The trays are checked for fit and the bleach syringes and instructions given. The trays are to be worn every day for 30 – 40 minutes (if the teeth do not become too sensitive), or every second or third day to achieve results. Alternatively, they can be slept in overnight, for this a different concentration of bleach will be provided.

There are 3 levels of whitening depending on the level of discolouration.

    Silver Standard £250 – 4 syringes
    Gold Intermediate £450 – 8 syringes
Advanced Platinum £850 – 12 or more syringes

With the Advanced Platinum Whitening we will monitor and provide as much gel as needed to get your teeth as light as they will go or until they stop changing colour. With some patients, such as those with tetracycline staining this could take several months.

  • Power Whitening – £325.00 (PW)

This is done in the surgery using a strong solution and a specialized light and takes approximately 60 to 90 minutes. A barrier is placed to protect the gums and cheeks and keep the soft tissues out of the way. The lightening gel is mixed and applied to the teeth, which is then activated by a specialized light.

However the results are considerably enhanced if combined with some home bleaching (i.e. ‘Deluxe Bleaching’).

This is done in Surgery via the zoom advanced power lamp or quicklase quickwhite laser. A strong solution and specialised light are used and takes approximately 60-90 minutes

  • Deluxe Bleaching(DB)* – £325.00 + HB

This procedure involves using the Home Bleaching technique for a short period before or after having the laser ‘Zoom Advanced Power’ bleaching and this improves the outcome and gives optimal and long lasting results.

  • Deluxe Express Whitening(DEW)* – £645.00

For those who need whiter teeth and fast! This procedure takes 2 hours plus 3-5 days of home whitening. The procedure will begin with a Platinum Diamond Clean with one of our hygienists, immediately followed by Power Whitening which takes approximately 2 hours. You will then receive bleaching trays and 2 syringes of bleach (although only one syringe may be needed). If there is heavy plaque and/or tartar present then an extended scale may be necessary at an additional cost of £50. We would advise you of this at your consultation.

    What will my dentist do?

Where the “nerve” of a tooth has died (through damage or disease) and the tooth’s root has been filled, bleach will be put inside the tooth under a removable temporary dressing. This can take a few days or a few weeks.

There are two ways of bleaching the outside of teeth. One takes place at home and the other is in the surgery.

    Home bleaching, how it works

You will need to have impressions taken with putty like material to make moulds of your teeth in order for your bleaching trays to be made. We will ensure that the trays fit and show you how to use the whitening and trays.

You will take the whitening gel home to use in your trays which fits closely around your teeth. The trays make sure that the gel does not burn your gums. You will need to put the tray in your mouth for a few hours or overnight depending on the brand and over a period of weeks for the best results.

    What are the benefits?

Bleaching improves the appearance of your teeth without removing any of the natural tooth surface. Bleaching is a better option than a crown or veneer if you want to lighten the colour of healthy teeth, as the placing of crowns and some veneers involves changing the shape of the tooth.

Bleaching in surgery, how it works

Your dentist (or dental care professional) will use stronger bleach than what you can use at home. This method is used to bleach all teeth at the same. The strong bleach will touch your teeth for less time than with home bleaching.

The dental professional will protect your gums, then paint the bleach onto the teeth and then shine a special light on them to activate the bleach.

The bleach will then be removed with water
