When you get to know people individually you can ensure their dental treatment meets and exceeds their expectations. After all, a truly great smile starts from within”.

Mr German Martin Roger Dip. Dental Hygiene – GDC 6127

germanThe Dental Awards 2010 – ‘Shortlisted Finalist for Hygienist of the Year’

“German believes in team work and is committed to delivering exceptional standards of treatment in order to meet the dentist’s expectations in firm belief that this contributes to the patient’s dental and general health”

German graduated as a Dental Hygienist in 2001 in Barcelona, Spain. Presently he complements his dedication to Apollonia’s patients by working in the maxillofacial unit in Aintree Hospital and also in the ‘Special Care’ and ‘Medical Liaison’ units at the Liverpool Dental Hospital.

Many patients have pre-conceived ideas of Dental Hygienists or a previous bad experience which has caused them to avoid dealing with their periodontal disease. German regularly provides whitening procedures and fissure sealants for patients and aims for pain free treatment, he is also trained in acupuncture for nervous or anxious patients.

As part of the Hygiene Total Care Team protocol patients are routinely offered an oral cancer screening with German. They are then recommended a Florida Probe examination which provides a six point pocket chart thus identifying areas requiring treatment and providing baseline measurements. Intensive OHI and a discussion about what initial therapy involves will also take place. The patient will be given a treatment plan and estimate for subsequent visits.

Follow up maintenance appointments will be made at an appropriate intervals and a follow up Florida Probe examination is usually carried out six months after completion of initial therapy.

leahAbout Leah

After completing a Business Administration NVQ L2 and 3 in 2011, Leah was looking for something more interesting to do with her career when came across the Dental Nurse NVQ and attended an interview at Apollonia. She shone so much and immediately got taken on for the trainee dental nurse position. Leah has shown incredible aptitude for the role and has fast become indispensable. She has impressed us so much that when she had her beautiful baby son, Rhys, we kept the trainee position open for her until she could return to work. Leah says “I have enjoyed dental nursing since my very first day as we have such a friendly team to work with. It is great to work in a practice that wants to achieve so much for the patients as well as changing people’s lives and know that your assistance helped in such fantastic work, putting nice healthy smiles on to so many people’s faces.
