Its National Smile month and here at Apollonia Dentist Liverpool on Rodney Street we’d like to help the ‘Teeth 4 Life’ campaign by helping people to understand gum disease. Here at Apollonia our hygiene department use ‘The Florida Probe’ which is a state of the art computerised gadget used for the thorough and accurate assessment of your gums and their health. Our female dentist Dr Melissa Goddard has been actively using the Florida Probe as an essential tool for cosmetic dental work for all her patients in Liverpool. Dr Goddard advises that “When people are thinking of having a Hollywood Cosmetic Smile Makeover, it is vital that we understand the health of the gums to ensure your teeth are held in strong foundations, after all you wouldn’t build a house without knowing what you are building on top of and cosmetic dentistry should be no different!”
The campaign slogan ‘Teeth 4 Life’ highlights the importance of looking after your teeth and maintaining them, also stressing that a healthy diet can improve the quality of your life. It encourages patients to maintain regular dental visits and is all about educating people to get the best from their smile. Gum disease has been linked to diabetes, strokes and pregnancy problems as well as heart disease, so it is vital now more than ever to look after oral hygiene. Almost all of us have at some point suffered from gum disease but you can rest assured that it is possible to treat and control it and prevent serious risks.
