Teenagers’ love of energy drinks is taking a terrible toll on their teeth, scientists have warned.
A study published in the Academy of General Dentistry charted an alarming increase in the consumption of both energy and sports drinks among young adults in the U.K. who use them to help get through the day.
But they said the habit is causing irreversible damage to teeth as the high acidity levels in the drinks erode tooth enamel, the glossy outer layer of the tooth

Smoking or using smokeless “chewing” tobacco can make you four times more likely of developing oral cancer (especially on the rise in women as more younger girls take up smoking) - and it’s not just something that older adults get anymore.

Pregnancy Gingivitis
Most women notice changes in their gums during pregnancy. Some women notice that their gums look redder and bleed when they brush their teeth. And some women have severe swelling and bleeding.
All of these changes are referred to as “pregnancy gingivitis.” They can start as early as the second month. The condition tends to peak around the eighth month. It often tapers off after the baby is born.
Pregnancy gingivitis is most common in the front of the mouth. The symptoms are the same as those for gingivitis, but some of the causes are different. Increased hormone levels may be partly responsible…
